Farmingdale State - 2, Mount Saint Vincent - 0

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over Mount Saint Vincent this evening in Farmingdale, N.Y. FSC has finished the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record in the Skyline Conference and will enter the playoffs as the top-seed.

It was also Senior Night at Farmingdale State as seniors Lexi Aschettino (Massapequa, N.Y.), Cailyn Demarinis (Deer Park, N.Y.), Meagan Murdocco (North Babylon, N.Y.), Molly Dowd (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and Tara Lyons (Wantagh, N.Y.) were each honored prior to the game.

FSC (13-7) opened the scoring in the 20th minute after a misplay by the CMSV (7-6-1, 6-4 Skyline) goalie led to two shots for Farmingdale State. Sophomore forward Michaela Rapisarda (Deer Park, N.Y.) stole the ball and took a shot that was saved and then hit the post. Freshman forward Jazzmin Terrell (West Babylon, N.Y.) picked up the rebound and scored to put the Rams ahead, 1-0.

The game remained 1-0 into the halftime break. Farmingdale State held a 14-1 shot advantage in the first 45 minutes.

Just 5:59 into the second, Mount Saint Vincent junior forward Emily McCarthy (Middletown, N.J.) nearly tied the score but a diving save by FSC sophomore goalie Lindsey Jolly (Massapequa, N.Y.) kept the game, 1-0.

FSC attempted six shots, including five on goal, over the first 15 minutes of the second half but were unable to score.

At 63:38, a Dolphins foul set up a free kick for the Rams. On the free kick, Murdocco took a shot that caromed off the crossbar but sophomore defender Celina Schenk (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) was there to head the ball into the net and put Farmingdale State on top, 2-0.

FSC held CMSV without a shot over the final 25 minutes as they went on for the 2-0 victory.

Goalkeepers Chloe Kensell (Monroe, N.Y.) (W, 9-2) and Jolly split time in net as the Rams earned their eighth shutout of the season.

Dolphins' junior goalie Kora-Lynn McCullough (Oregon City, OR) (L, 6-4) made 12 saves in defeat.
