Farmingdale State Earns Shutout at Sarah Lawrence

Yonkers, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team earned a 2-0 shutout at Sarah Lawrence on Wednesday evening. With the win, FSC improved to 5-0 in conference play, while the Gryphons dropped to 4-3.

Over the first 23:56 of the game, the Rams (8-6) attempted nine shots and six corner kicks but were held without a goal.

Farmingdale State got on the board at 30:42 as junior forward Julissa Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) scored her ninth goal of the season off the feed from freshman midfielder Samantha Muller (North Babylon, N.Y.). 

FSC led by one and extended their lead to 2-0 just 2:56 into the second half on a goal by freshman forward Francesca Robiglio (West Islip, N.Y.) from senior midfielder Tara Lyons (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Martinez.

The Rams outshot Sarah Lawrence, 10-1, over the remainder of the game as they went on for the 2-0 victory.

Martinez led the way with three points on a goal and an assist.

Farmingdale State attempted eight corner kicks, to none for SLC (7-7), and 22 shots in the game.

FSC next will travel to Manhattanville for a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, October 16th at 4:00 p.m.
