Terrell Scores Pair as Rams Defeat Mount Saint Mary

Farmingdale State - 4, Mount Saint Mary - 1


Newburgh, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team traveled to Mount Saint Mary College for a Skyline Conference game this afternoon and earned a 4-1 victory.

With the win, FSC improved to 7-5 overall and 4-0 in conference play, while the Knights dropped to 6-4-2, 5-1-1.

FSC tallied the only goal in the first half on a penalty kick by junior forward Julissa Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) with 23:35 remaining on the clock. The Rams out shot Mount Saint Mary 10-0 in the first half.

Only one minute after the break, Farmingdale State extended the lead to 2-0 on a Jazzmin Terrell (West Babylon, N.Y.) score off the pass by sophomore defender Celina Schenk (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.).

The Rams went ahead 3-0 in the 56th minute on a goal by senior midfielder Tara Lyons (Wantagh, N.Y.) as sophomore defender Taylor Berry (Glen Head, N.Y.) recorded the assist.

MSMC sophomore defender Chloe Kennedy (Middletown, N.Y.) connected on a penalty kick with 34:53 left on the clock to pull the Knights within two, 3-1.

Terrell scored her second goal of the afternoon and team-leading ninth of the season in the 75th minute to cap off the 4-1 victory.

The Rams finished the game with 22 shots, while allowing the Knights to only attempt two.

Farmingdale State next will travel to play non-conference opponent Western Connecticut State University on Monday, October 11th at 6:00 p.m.
