#22 Scranton Improves to 10-0 with Win Versus Rams

#22 Scranton - 3, Farmingdale State - 0


Scranton, Penn. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team traveled to play #22 ranked Scranton on Tuesday evening and fell, 3-0. The Royals improved to 10-0 and recorded their eighth shutout of the season.

After trading shots over the first 20 minutes, Scranton got on the board in the 26th minute on a goal from senior defender Hope Drewes (Yardley, Penn.). 

The Royals added four shots before the end of the half but were unable to extend their lead as they entered the break ahead, 1-0.

At 59:10 in the second half, senior midfielder Stephanie Lowrey (Bridgewater, N.J.) notched an unassisted goal to put the Royals on top, 2-0.

The final score came with just 5:43 remaining when Scranton sophomore forward Niamh Healy (Orangeburg, N.Y.) set up sophomore midfielder Claire Mullholland (Marlton, N.J.) for a goal. 

FSC (6-5) had one final shot with 2:11 remaining but fell, 3-0.

Royals' senior goalkeeper Amanda Steinberg (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) made five saves to improve to 10-0, while Rams' sophomore goalie Lindsey Jolly (Massapequa, N.Y.) stopped seven shots in the loss.

Farmingdale State next will travel to Mount Saint Mary for a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, October 9th at 1:00 p.m.
