Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team welcomed ninth-ranked Trinity (Texas) to FSC for a non-conference game today and fell in overtime, 2-1.

The Rams (5-4) took an early 1-0 advantage just 3:52 in after junior forward Julissa Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) sent a corner kick that deflected off a Trinity (6-0-1) defender and into the net.

The game remained 1-0 until 21:04 when Tigers' senior midfielder Alex Walsh (Tulsa, OK) set up junior forward Molly Sheridan (St. Louis, Mo.) for a goal to knot the score at 1-1.

Over the final 13:56 of the first half, FSC took the only two shots on goal as the game entered the break, 1-1.

Trinity came out quickly in the second half attempting three shots on goal in the first 5:36 all of which were saved by FSC sophomore goalie Lindsey Jolly (Massapequa, N.Y.).

The Rams responded with seven straight shots over the next 22 minutes but were unable to find the back of the net.

Neither team scored in the final 17:53 as the game headed into overtime tied, 1-1.

In OT, the Tigers scored on their first shot as Sheridan drove past an FSC defender, passed the ball in front to freshman forward Michaela Bosco (Weatherford, TX) who sent a tip pass to senior midfielder Kaity Ward (Phoenix, AZ) for the game-winning goal.

Trinity outshot the Rams, 15-13, in the game, while each team attempted five corner kicks.

Tigers' freshman goalkeeper Lauryn Lewis (Carrollton, TX) (W, 2-0) made five saves in the 2-1 victory. Jolly (L, 2-3) stopped four shots for Farmingdale State.

FSC will next host St. Joseph's-Brooklyn for a conference game on Wednesday, September 29th at 7:00 p.m.
