Martinez Collects Five Points in Rams Win Over Maritime

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Farmingdale State junior forward Julissa Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) scored two goals and had one assist for five points to lead Farmingdale State to a 4-0 win over Maritime this afternoon. The FSC women's soccer team improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in Skyline Conference play with the victory.

The Rams opened the scoring in the 16th minute as sophomore forward Michaela Rapisarda (Deer Park, N.Y.) set up Martinez for the goal.

Just 2:12 later, freshman forward Francesca Robiglio (West Islip, N.Y.) sent a cross in front for Martinez who netted her second goal to put Farmingdale State on top, 2-0.

FSC took the 2-0 advantage into the halftime break as they outshot the Privateers (1-1, 0-1 Skyline), 19-1, in the first 45 minutes.

At 59:27, freshman forward Lexi Aschettino (Massapequa, N.Y.) extended the Rams advantage to 3-0, scoring off a rebounded shot.

Farmingdale State's final goal came with just 3:16 remaining as Martinez sent a long pass ahead to sophomore defender Celina Schenk (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) who headed the ball in for the score.

The Rams outshot Maritime, 40-1, and took nine corner kicks in the 4-0 Skyline Conference win.

Privateers' junior goalie Lizzie Pomaro (Farmingville, N.Y.) (L, 1-1) made 16 saves in defeat. For FSC, freshman goalkeeper Chloe Kensell (Monroe, N.Y.) (W, 2-0) earned the shutout victory.

FSC next hosts St. Joseph's-Long Island for a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, September 18th at 11:00 a.m.
