Rams Earn Shutout Win at Manhattanville

Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team traveled to Manhattanville College on Wednesday afternoon for their final regular season game and won, 4-0. The Rams finished 9-0-1 in conference play and have earned the #2 seed for the upcoming Skyline Conference Championship.

FSC (12-5-3) came out quick as they attempted six shots in the first 15 minutes of the contest.

Farmingdale State junior midfielder Brittney Starzee (Babylon, N.Y.) opened the scoring in the 20th minute as she scored off the assists from junior midfielder Cailyn Demarinis (Deer Park, N.Y.) and senior midfielder Edasia Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.).

Starzee tallied her second score of the game just 4:16 later as junior midfielder Molly Dowd (Bay Shore, N.Y.) had the assist to put the Rams in front, 2-0.

FSC took a three-goal advantage only 2:20 after the halftime break after sophomore forward Emily Zeblisky (Northport, N.Y.) recorded an unassisted goal.

The fourth and final goal of the game came in the 55th minute as Martinez registered her fourth goal of the season from freshman midfielder Celina Schenk (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.).

The Rams outshot the Valiants (9-9, 7-3 Skyline), 25-7, and took the only four corner kicks in the 4-0 victory.

Senior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) finished with four saves to notch her ninth shutout of the season.

Farmingdale State has earned a first round bye and next hosts the semifinals on Wednesday, November 6th.
