FSC opened the scoring in the 19th minute as junior midfielder Molly Dowd (Bay Shore, N.Y.) gathered a loose ball in the defensive zone and passed it ahead to junior midfielder Cailyn Demarinis (Deer Park, N.Y.). As Demarinis crossed the midfield line, she sent the ball to the left wing for junior midfielder Brittney Starzee (Babylon, N.Y.) who scored from 20 yards out to put Farmingdale State in front, 1-0.

FSC extended their advantage to 2-0 at 36:18 as Demarinis scored off the feed freshman midfielder Briella LaFata (East Meadow, N.Y.).

The Rams outshot the Dolphins 15-1 in the first half. CMSV freshman goalkeeper Kora-Lynn McCullough (Oregon City, OR) made nine saves in the first 45 minutes.

After trading shots on goal over the first 25 minutes of the second half, Farmingdale State freshman midfielder Courtney Nelson (Ridge, N.Y.) registered her first collegiate goal in the 78th minute as she buried the rebound off the shot from LaFata to give FSC a three-goal advantage.

Mount Saint Vincent added a late goal from senior midfielder Jenna McDonnell (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) to cut their deficit to two, but the Rams would hold the Dolphins without a shot over the final 7:12 to earn the 3-1 victory.

Demarinis finished with a goal and an assist for a game-high three points, while LaFata tallied a career-high two assists.
