Old Westbury, N.Y. - Farmingdale State junior midfielder Kristen Shine (Manorville, N.Y.) recorded a goal and one assist for three points in today's 2-0 Skyline Conference win at Old Westbury. With the victory, FSC improved to 8-5-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 in conference play.

After the Panthers (8-8, 2-5 Skyline) opened the game with a corner kick and a shot, the Rams tallied the next five shots on goal, each of which were saved by Old Westbury freshman goalie Yakeline Umanzor (Brentwood, N.Y.).

Farmingdale State broke the scoreless tie in the 39th minute as Shine scored off the feed from senior defender Gianna DeCarlo (West Islip, N.Y.).

The Rams registered just one more shot on goal before the halftime break as Umanzor tallied six first-half saves.

Just under 20 minutes into the second half, FSC junior midfielder Brittney Starzee's (Babylon, N.Y.) shot hit the post as the game remained 1-0.

With 9:38 left to play, Shine sent a through pass for freshman forward Nicole Forero (Levittown, N.Y.) who scored on the breakaway to put FSC in front, 2-0.

Neither team recorded a shot the rest of the way as Farmingdale State earned the 2-0 conference victory.

Rams' senior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) made just one save to pick up her eighth shutout of the season.
