FSC Falls to #24 Williams in Non-Conference Game

Williamstown, Mass. - The FSC women's soccer team traveled to non-conference opponent #24 Williams this afternoon and lost, 2-0. The Rams fell to 7-4-2 on the season, while the Ephs improved to 7-2-1.

Williams controlled the game early as they tallied six shots, including two on goal, over the first 30 minutes of play. The Ephs opened the scoring in the 32nd minute as freshman midfielder Emma Lynch (Weymouth, Mass.) gathered a failed clear attempt by FSC and scored from 15 yards out to go in front, 1-0.

The game remained 1-0 until 43:22 when an own goal put Williams ahead, 2-0.

The Ephs outshot the Rams, 10-2, in the first 45 minutes.

In a scoreless second half, Farmingdale State registered five shots, with one on net, but were unable to score as Williams earned the 2-0 win.

Rams' senior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) recorded four saves in defeat.

Farmingdale State next travels to play non-conference opponent Swarthmore on Monday, October 14th at 4:00 p.m.
