Farmingdale State Drops Road Game at NYU

Riverdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team traveled to New York University on Wednesday evening for a non-conference game and lost, 1-0. FSC dropped to 4-3-2 on the season, while NYU improved to 6-2.

In a scoreless first half, Rams' senior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) stopped the only three shots on goal in the first 45 minutes. 

The lone goal of the game came in the 78th minute as NYU junior midfielder Julia Raith (Rutherford, N.J.) scored off the cross in front by junior defender Francesca Dimitrakis (South Brunswick, N.J.). 

Over the final 12:49 of the game, Farmingdale State tallied two shots but neither were on target as the Violets earned the 1-0 victory.

Ford finished with six saves, while NYU junior goalkeeper Meghan Marhan (Glen Ridge, N.Y.) stopped just one shot in the win.

Farmingdale State next returns to Skyline Conference action when they play host to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Saturday, September 28th at 2:30 p.m.
