Rams Roll in Win Over Yeshiva

Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team shutout Yeshiva, 8-0, in their Skyline Conference opener on Tuesday evening. With the win, the Rams improved to 4-2-2 overall and 1-0 in the Skyline.

FSC opened the scoring just 1:47 in as sophomore forward Emily Zeblisky (Northport, N.Y.) scored off the double assist from freshman midfielder Celina Schenk (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and junior midfielder Cailyn Demarinis (Deer Park, N.Y.).

The Rams took a 3-0 lead just over ten minutes in as Zeblisky set up both junior midfielder Alexandra Johnson (Commack, N.Y.) and sophomore forward Julissa Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) for back-to-back goals.

Less than a minute later, Johnson tallied her second score of the game, from Demarinis, to go in front, 4-0.

Farmingdale State added a goal from sophomore midfielder Kayla Duvenhorst (Levittown, N.Y.) and two from junior midfielder Brittney Starzee (Babylon, N.Y.) to take a 7-0 advantage into the halftime break.

FSC outshot Yeshiva 26-0 in the first half and took seven corner kicks.

The Rams final goal of the game came in the 51st minute as freshman forward Nicole Forero (Levittown, N.Y.) registered her first collegiate goal from both Schenk and freshman midfielder Kristina Sommer (Oakdale, N.Y.) to cap off the 8-0 win.

Zeblisky finished with one goal and two assists, while Johnson and Starzee each tallied two goals for four points. 

Farmingdale State next travels to play NYU (@ Manhattan College) in a non-conference game tonight, Wednesday, September 25th at 7:00 p.m.
