Strong First Half Leads Geneseo Over Farmingdale State

Geneseo, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team traveled to play Geneseo this afternoon and fell, 5-0. The Knights used four first half goals en route to the non-conference victory.

Geneseo (6-2) opened the scoring in the 10th minute as senior defender Sarah Loprieno (Northport, N.Y.) set up sophomore midfielder Hannah Sullivan (Marlboro, N.Y.) for a goal.

Just 4:09 later, Knights' senior forward Domenica Piccoli (East Northport, N.Y.) scored off the feed from junior midfielder Ellie Gregory (Commack, N.Y.) to extend their advantage to 2-0.

Geneseo added goals from senior midfielder Grace Dunnigan (Pittsford, N.Y.) and Loprieno in the 21st and 25th minutes, respectively, as they took a 4-0 lead into the halftime break.

Just under 10 minutes into the second half, Sullivan tallied her second score of the game to go in front, 5-0.

Neither team would score over the final 35:40 of the contest as Geneseo went on for the 5-0 non-conference victory.

FSC (3-2-2) freshman goalkeeper Arianna Casha (Seaford, N.Y.) made a career-high seven saves in the loss.

The Rams next open Skyline Conference play with a road game at Yeshiva (@Aviator Field 1) on Tuesday, September 24th at 8:15 p.m.
