Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team hosted non-conference opponent Scranton this afternoon and the game ended in a double overtime tie, 0-0.

In a scoreless first half, each team registered four shots and two corner kicks. Scranton (0-2-2) had the best scoring chance of the half in the 34th minute as freshman midfielder Devon Schroder (North Bellmore, N.Y.) gathered the ball in the box and attempted back-to-back shots on goal, one which was saved by Rams' (2-1-2) senior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) and one that was cleared off the goal line by FSC freshman defender Kaila Hinchman (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) for a team save.

In the second half, the Royals controlled play as they outshot Farmingdale State, 8-2. Ford made a pair of saves with under eight minutes remaining to keep the game scoreless and send the game to overtime.

Scranton freshman midfielder Evelyn Bruggeman (Coatesville, Pa.) had the only shot on goal in the first OT as Ford tallied another stop.

In double overtime, FSC junior midfielder Cailyn Demarinis (Deer Park, N.Y.) registered the final shot on net but Royals sophomore goalie Amanda Steinberg (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) made the save as the game ended in a tie.

Ford and Steinberg each picked up a shutout as they recorded seven and six saves, respectively.
