Troy, N.Y. - On the final day of the Engineers Cup, the FSC women's soccer team played Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and the game ended in a 0-0 double overtime tie.

The Engineers (1-0-1) controlled play early as they recorded the first six shots of the game, two of which were on target and saved by Rams' senior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.).

Farmingdale State (1-0-1) had their first scoring opportunity in the 35th minute as junior midfielder Meagan Murdocco (North Babylon, N.Y.) stepped in for a shot that was stopped by RPI senior goalie Joey Lyon (Harwood, Md.).

After the Engineers outshot the Rams 6-1 in the first half, FSC held a slight 7-6 shot advantage in the second.

The best chance for either side came in the 63rd minute when RPI sophomore forward Whitney Wisnom (Hillsborough, Calif.) took a shot from inside the box but was denied as Ford made a diving stop.

The game remained scoreless after 90 minutes and both teams combined for just two shots in the overtime periods as the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

Ford and Lyon made five and four saves, respectively, as each goalie earned a shutout for their effort.

Farmingdale State next travels to Trinity (Conn.) for a non-conference game on Wednesday, September 4th at 5:30 p.m.
