The Farmingdale State women's soccer team hosted Cortland State today for a non-conference game and ended in a 0-0 double overtime tie. The Rams now stand at 5-1-1 overall, while the Red Dragons hold a record of 3-2-1.
In the first half, Cortland held a 5-3 advantage in shots, but Farmingdale led 3-2 with corner kick opportunities. Rams senior goalkeeper Amanda Maass (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) and graduate student goalkeeper Pam Monnier (East Northport, N.Y.) each made three saves in the half.
The second half featured four shots by the Red Dragons and three from Farmingdale. Two of the Cortland shots hit the posts.
Double overtime saw just two Farmingdale shots in the first ten minute period, followed by a 3-1 Cortland advantage in the second period.
Cortland's Monnier made four saves for the game, while Maass made three.
The Rams will now host Stevens on Tuesday, September 20th at 4:00 p.m.
