Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team clinched the second seed for the Skyline Conference playoffs with a 2-0 win over Bard this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. Senior defender Kaitlin O'Brien (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) played in her final regular season home game for the Rams.

Freshman midfielder Brittany Williams (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) scored the first goal of the day just fifteen minutes into play, giving the Rams a 1-0 lead. Freshman forward Katrina Cerverizzo (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches) scored Farmingdale's second and final goal of the day at the 35 minute mark.  

The Rams held a 2-0 lead at the half and would hold the Raptors scoreless in the second to preserve the conference victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Amanda Maass (Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd) made three saves in her seventh shutout of the season, while freshman goalkeeper Jessica Philpott (Hot Springs, Va./Bath County) made six saves in defeat.

The Rams will now receive a Bye for the quarterfinal round of the playoffs and will await word of their semifinal opponent. Official seedings for the Playoffs will be posted on the Skyline website (www.skylineconference.org) at the conclusion of today's Skyline scheduled games.
