Early Goal by Jung Holds as Game-Winner for Rams

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Farmingdale State sophomore forward Jennifer Jung (New Hyde Park, N.Y./Herricks) connected on a pass from freshman defender Katie Rocks (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) in the third minute of play to give the Rams a 1-0 lead over visiting St. Joseph's College (7-5-1, 2-1-1). Farmingdale kept the pressure on throughout with a 14-11 shot advantage and the goal proved to be the game-winner, as the Rams improve to 8-5, 4-0 in the Skyline with sole possession of first place.

The goal marks JJ's fourth goal of the season and Rocks first assist of her collegiate career. Sophomore goaltender Kimberly Sontag (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) made two saves for her fourth shutout of the year.

St. Joe's sophomore goalkeeper Dana Carney (Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) made seven saves in defeat.

Farmingdale State will now host Skyline Conference opponent Purchase College on Saturday, October 13th at 1:00 p.m. At the game, the Rams are attempting to set the Division III attendance record. Come out and watch the team take on second place Purchase and help them break an NCAA record.
