Mahwah, N.J. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team improved to 3-4 overall today after coming back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Roadrunners of Ramapo 2-1 in a non-conference game in Mahwah, N.J.
After a scoreless first half, Ramapo freshman forward Kimberly
Bruno (Middletown, N.J./Middletown South) dribbled up the middle
and ripped a shot between the posts at 55:47 to give the
Roadrunners a 1-0 edge. Farmingdale answered back just under 20
minutes later when sophomore midfielder Monica Grisales (Brentwood,
N.Y./Brentwood) tied the game at 1-1, sending in a ball that
slipped out of Ramapo goalkeeper Jessica DaRold's (Sayerville,
N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) hands. Sophomore forward Kristine
Ostrem (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) posted the eventual game
winner at 71:36 earning the Rams their third win of the year.
Farmingdale goalkeeper Kimberly Sontag (Lynbrook,
N.Y./Lynbrook) finished the day with six saves, while DaRold made
two saves in Ramapo's fourth loss of the year.
The Rams host Yeshiva University on Wednesday, September 19th at 4:00 p.m. in their first Skyline Conference game of the season.
