Freshmen Carry Rams Past St. Joe's

Patchogue, NY - Farmingdale (9-6-2, 4-3) kept their playoff chances alive tonight as the freshmen led the women's soccer team in a win over Skyline opponent St. Joseph's College (8-6-1, 4-2-1) today in Patchogue, NY. The Rams scored three goals in the first half and then added one more in the second to complete the 4-0 shutout and move past St. Joe's into 4th place in the conference.

Freshman forwards Renee Schondebare (Selden, NY/Newfield) and Christina Cascio (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) each scored two goals for Farmingdale, while freshman midfield Amanda Biondi (West Islip, NY/West Islip) had one assist. Freshman goalkeeper Kimberly Sontag (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) finished with one save in her seventh shutout of the season.

The Rams will now wait for the result of the Centenary vs. Stevens game to see if they remain in fourth place in the Skyline with a spot in the four-team conference championship.

Farmingdale hosts New Paltz on Saturday, October 28th at 1:00pm for their final home game of the season.
