Rams Fall in Season Opener 8-1

The Rams suffered their first loss of the season in their season opener, as the Catholic University Cardinals rolled to an 8-1 victory. Stephanie Hare (Atlanta, GA) started the scoring for Catholic, assisted by Laura Kaye (Annandale, VA) at 6:52 in the first. The Cardinals’ Angela Rodano (Edgewater, MD) and Kaye also scored in the first, making it 3-0 at the half. Rodano finished with three goals for Catholic and Kaye scored two goals and an assist. Jenny Aspinwall (Chantilly, VA) and Meghan McGuire (East Amherst, NY) added a goal each for the Cardinals.

Farmingdale goalkeeper Pam Baione (Farmingdale, NY) finished with a noteworthy effort in goal, making 21 saves (12 in the first and 9 in the second) with a .724 save percentage. The Rams’ goal came in the second by Freshman Amanda Boylan (West Babylon, NY) off a corner kick by Natalie Budinich (Commack, NY).

Farmingdale will face Ramapo College next Saturday, September 11th at Noon.
