PATCHOGUE, N.Y. | Junior attacker Athena Vogiatzis (Holtsville, N.Y.) fired home five goals, while sophomore goalie Ronnie Reilly (Oceanside, N.Y.) backstopped a solid defensive effort with 12 saves Tuesday night at the Danzi Athletic Complex, leading the Farmingdale State College women's lacrosse team to an 11-2, Skyline Conference victory at St. Joseph's College-Long Island.

The visiting Rams (5-6, 3-0 Skyline), winners of three straight, forced 25 turnovers by the Golden Eagles (1-5, 0-2), with senior defender Anna Zaborowska (E. Patchogue, N.Y.) causing a career-high eight miscues in the victory. She, along with sophomore midfielder Megan Diamond (Dix Hills, N.Y.), helped FSC to a 13-4 edge at the draw circle, as the pair controlled six and five, respectively.

Vogiatzis opened the scoring 7:28 into the contest with the only goal of the first period, before junior attacker Jasmin Brown (Shirley, N.Y.) collected two of her five points (3 g, 2 a) on the evening with a pair of tallies in the final 4:05 of the second period to send Farmingdale State to a 5-1 halftime advantage.

St. Joseph's-Long Island pulled back one goal 2:18 into the second half, before the Rams closed out the game with six unanswered scores.

Head coach Erin Calkins will lead Farmingdale State back into Skyline action on Saturday afternoon (April 9), when the Rams welcome the United States Merchant Marine Academy for a 1 p.m. opening draw in a contest featuring the finalists from each of the last three conference championships.
