Indianapolis, Ind. - The NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Committee has selected the 37 teams that will compete in the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.

Farmingdale State will open with a Second Round matchup against Washington & Jefferson on Saturday, May 8th at 4:30 p.m. The game will be played at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.

The other Second Round game on that side of the bracket, which will be played on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., features #4 Salisbury (15-0) against Morrisville State (7-2). 

The winners will meet in the Regional Round at the same site on Saturday, May 15th.

The Rams earned their spot in the NCAA Tournament after defeating Merchant Marine in the Skyline Championship this past weekend, 11-10. This will be Farmingdale State's fourth appearance in the NCAA's and first since 2017, when they defeated Endicott in the First Round before falling to TCNJ in the Second.

FSC is led offensively by senior attack Courtney Gendels (Wantagh, N.Y.), who was just named the Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Gendels leads the conference with 40 goals and 53 points and has scored at least three goals in every game this season.

Farmingdale State is backstopped by sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Perrini (Holbrook, N.Y.). Perrini was named First Team All-Skyline and holds held a 7.50 goals against average, a mark that ranks second all-time for a season, and a .516 save percentage.

Washington & Jefferson (10-0) punched their ticket to the NCAA's after winning the President's Athletic Conference with a victory over Thiel College, 18-3.

The Presidents are led by sophomores Amanda Effland (Frederick, Md.) and Sarah Labovitz (Great Falls, Va.) who have totaled 68 and 55 points, respectively. In 10 games this season, W&J freshman goalie Kaitlyn Brown (Charlotte Hall, Md.) holds a 6.20 GAA and a .578 save percentage.

Five first-round games and sixteen second-round games will be conducted on Saturday and Sunday May 8-9 with the winners advancing to one of four regional sites Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16. Winners of the four regionals will advance to the semifinals and final, which take place Saturday and Sunday, May 22-23 at Kerr Stadium in Salem, Virginia.
