Clarkson Rolls Past FSC in Non-Conference Matchup

Port Charlotte, Fla. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team squared off against Clarkson University this morning in Port Charlotte, Florida and fell, 18-2. The Rams are now 0-4 on the season, while the Golden Knights improved to 4-2.

Over the first 6:14 of the game, Clarkson tallied four goals, including a pair from junior attack Jaid Boytos (Watertown, N.Y.), to open up a 4-0 advantage. With 22:10 remaining in the half, Farmingdale State used an unassisted score by freshman midfielder Haley Perez (Smithtown, N.Y.) to cut the deficit to three. Only 19 seconds later, the Rams added their final goal of the first half as junior midfielder Alexandra Sparrow (Levittown, N.Y.) netted a pass from Jessica Spina (Lindenhurst, N.Y.). After Sparrow's goal pulled the Rams within two, the Golden Knights closed with eight unanswered scores to take a 12-2 lead into the break.

In a second half controlled by Clarkson, FSC was outscored 6-0 and outshot 10-0 as Clarkson earned the 18-2 non-conference victory.

Baytos, Marisa Clark (Adams, N.Y.), Taylor Collins (Syracuse, N.Y.), Katie Sergeant (Ontario, N.Y.), Abby Collins (Syracuse, N.Y.), Emma Andrews (Mexico, N.Y.), Aubrey Borgesi (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and Natalie Farnett (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) each scored two goals in the win for the Golden Knights.

Farmingdale State next will play Williams in Englewood, Florida on Wednesday, March 21st at 7:00 p.m.
