Bass Leads Albright in Win Over FSC

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Albright junior midfielder Sophie Bass (Westfield, N.J.) led the way for the Lions as she scored a game-high six goals and added one assist in the 17-6 non-conference women's lacrosse victory at Farmingdale State this afternoon. Albright held a 12-4 advantage at the break and outscored the Rams, 5-2, in the second half for the win.

Bass tallied the first two goals of the game less than a minute in to put the Lions (4-3) out in front, 2-0. FSC (0-3) senior midfielder Samantha Morra (Levittown, N.Y.) answered with an unassisted goal to cut the deficit to one only 4:25 into the contest.

With 20:23 left in the half, Albright recorded nine straight goals over the next 13:20 to open up a commanding 11-1 lead as Bass registered three scores and an assist during that span. Farmingdale State outscored the Lions, 3-1, over the remainder of the first as freshman midfielder Haley Perez (Smithtown, N.Y.) tallied a goal and freshman attack Julia Tuohy (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) scored twice.

Over the opening 5:55 of the second half, Albright used scores from senior attack Corinne Donohue (Holtsville, N.Y.), senior midfielder Sydney Nankervis (Center Moriches, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder Kelly Baumann (South Huntington, N.Y.) to extend the advantage to 15-4. After a goal by Perez off the feed from Danielle Hall (Levittown, N.Y.), the Lions added back-to-back scores to go up by 12. Tuohy tallied the final goal of the afternoon as the Rams fell, 17-6.

Tuohy recorded a team-high three goals and Perez pitched in with two for Farmingdale State.

To go along with Bass' game-high seven points, she added eight draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers, while Nankervis scored three goals and caused a game-high three turnovers. Nine different players scored at least one goal in the victory for Albright.

FSC next travels to Port Charlotte, Florida to take on Clarkson University on Monday, March 19th at 10:00 a.m.
