- Rosino Named Player of the Week; Varone and Wieczorek tabbed Rookie's of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #9 on Monday, April 24th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and conference statistics.

Women's Lacrosse Update (13-1, 6-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams earned a pair of victories over both Maritime (20-3) and Sage (20-7) last week.

Senior midfielder Brittany Rosino (North Babylon, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week, while freshman midfielder Victoria Varone (Commack, N.Y.) earned Skyline Rookie of the Week honors.

Rosino led FSC in points (12), goals (8), ground balls (5) and caused turnovers (7). Against Maritime, she tallied three goals, four assists and game-high's in draws with 10 and caused turnovers with three. Rosino followed with a game-high five goals and game-high four caused turnovers at Sage.

Varone received her third weekly honor of the season. She opened the week with a goal, three assists and five draw controls at Maritime and followed with one goal and a game-high 11 draw controls at Sage.

This week FSC will play their final two regular season games: Tuesday vs. Old Westbury @ 3:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Mount Saint Mary (Senior Day) @ 1:00 p.m.

Men's Lacrosse Update (11-5, 5-4 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team was 1-1 last week with a loss at Montclair State (15-7) and a win at Mount Saint Vincent (23-7). The Rams have earned the #4 seed for the upcoming Skyline Conference Playoffs.

Freshman attack Ryan Wieczorek (West Islip, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Wieczorek picked up his fifth weekly honor of the season. He scored four goals, including one man-down at Montclair State. His fourth and final goal gave him 57 on the season and broke the single-season school record of 56 goals set back in 2010. Wieczorek recorded three goals and one assist in the win at Mount Saint Vincent and now has 60 goals to date on the year.

This week #4 FSC will host #5 Kean in the First Round of the playoffs on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

Men's Tennis Update (6-7, 2-2 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State posted a 1-1 mark in a pair of games last week. The Rams defeated Sarah Lawrence (7-2) and fell at non-conference Hunter College (5-4).

Sophomore James Roth (Massapequa, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after posting a perfect 3-0 record, including 2-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles competition.

The men's tennis team will play their final four regular season matches this week: Wednesday vs. Yeshiva @ 4:00 p.m., Friday vs. St. Joseph's-LI @ 4:00 p.m., Saturday at Mount Saint Mary @ noon and Sunday vs. St. Joseph's-Brooklyn @ noon.

Baseball Update (18-13, 10-4 Skyline) - Full Report

In their only conference doubleheader last week, FSC split at St. Joseph's-LI.

This week the Rams will close out the regular season with two Skyline doubleheaders: Thursday vs. Yeshiva @ 5:00 p.m. and Saturday at Maritime @ noon.

Softball Update (19-15, 9-5 Skyline) - Full Report

In eight games last week, Farmingdale State posted a 5-3 record.

This week the FSC softball team will play their final two doubleheaders of the regular season: Friday vs. Yeshiva (Senior Day) @ 10:00 a.m. and Saturday at Mount Saint Mary @ noon.

Outdoor Track Update

At the USMMA 5-Way Meet, the men finished first, while the women carded a third place finish. The men's team won 11 events and finished with 253 total points and the women won four events at the meet.

The track teams will travel to Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Thursday-Saturday) for the Penn Relays.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team traveled to Ballston Spa Country Club for the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore College last week and finished in seventh place out of 11 teams.
