Rams Roll Past Sage on Senior Day

Farmingdale, N.Y. - In their final regular season game of the year, the Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team earned a 22-8 Skyline Conference win over Sage today. Seniors Judy Romero (Brentwood, N.Y.), Kristen Ranaldo (Commack, N.Y.), Ali Pavese* (Kings Park, N.Y.), Sara Rivadeneyra* (Ridge, N.Y.) and Georgia Kalamidas (Old Bethpage, N.Y.) were each honored prior to the game.

Only 32 seconds into the game, junior attack Kristen Keller (Westbury, N.Y.) scored off Jessica Spina's (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) pass to give the Rams (7-9, 6-1) an early 1-0 advantage. Freshman midfielder Alexandra Sparrow (Levittown, N.Y.) and sophomore attack Samantha Morra (Levittown, N.Y.) followed with back-to-back goals to extend the FSC lead to 3-0.

After two straight goals from Nicole Maher (Glen Cove, N.Y.) cut the Sage (5-10, 1-6) deficit to 3-2, junior midfielder Brittany Rosino* (North Babylon, N.Y.) responded with a score for the Rams.

Leading 5-4 with 7:04 remaining in the first half, Farmingdale State took a three-goal advantage after scores by Rosino and Sparrow. FSC outscored the gators 2-1 over the final 3:54 of the half and took a 9-5 advantage into the break.

With 24:56 remaining and the Rams on top 12-7, Rosino and Keller connected on goals to extend the lead to 14-7. After a goal by Sage junior attack Monica Koralus (Verbank, N.Y.), Farmingdale State closed the game with eight unanswered scores for the 22-8 victory.

Keller recorded a season-high six goals and added two assists, while Rosino had four goals and a game-high four assists. Sparrow tallied four goals and one assist and both Spina and junior attack Janisha Sanchez (Brentwood, N.Y.) finished the game with four points.

Kalamidas stopped seven shots for Farmingdale State.
