Rosino Leads Rams to Conference Win

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team improved to 6-9, 5-1 in Skyline play with a 17-11 win today over Old Westbury (5-10, 3-3). The Rams attack was led by junior midfielder Brittany Rosino* (West Babylon, N.Y.) with a career-high eight points.

Rosino scored the first three goals of the game before junior midfielder Kristen Keller (Westbury, N.Y.) tallied her first of the day for a 4-0 FSC advantage and 17:34 on the clock. Old Westbury junior midfielder Sara Bey (Merrick, N.Y.) got the Panthers on the board as her team outscored the Rams 4-2 over a 10-minute span, cutting the deficit to 6-4. Farmingdale State closed the half with five consecutive goals to hold an 11-4 lead at the halftime break.

In the second half, the Rams added three goals over the first six minutes, including two from Rosino, giving FSC a 14-4 lead. Farmingdale State held on for the conference victory with three more goals en route to the 17-11 win.

Rosino tied her career-high seven goals and added one assist, three draws and three caused turnovers, while Keller totaled four goals and three draw controls. Freshman midfielder Alexandra Sparrow (Levittown, N.Y.) had three goals, four draws and four ground balls.

Bey tallied two goals, three assists and a game-high five draw controls. Freshman midfielder Natasha Treuman (Merrick, N.Y.) finished with five goals and three draw controls.

Farmingdale State will host The Sage Colleges on Saturday, April 30th at Noon. The game will feature Senior Day for Georgia Kalamidas, Ali Pavese, Kristen Ranaldo, Sara Rivadeneyra and Judy Romero.
