Rochester Institute of Technology - 16, Farmingdale State - 8
Clermont, Fla. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team lost 16-8 this afternoon in a non-conference game against Rochester Institute of Technology in Clermont, Florida.
RIT (3-4) scored five goals over the first 15:39 including two each from sophomore attack Emily Livecci (Rochester, N.Y.) and senior attack Sage Sarkis (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) to take a 5-0 lead.
Junior midfielder Brittany Rosino* (North Babylon, N.Y.) scored FSC's first goal with 10:11 remaining in the first half to close within four. Junior midfielder Kristen Keller (Westbury, N.Y.) and Rosino added back-to-back goals to cut the Farmingdale State (1-5) deficit to 5-3.
RIT responded with three unanswered goals over the final 2:03 of the half to extend their advantage to 8-3 at the break.
The Tigers started the second half with five straight goals to open up a 13-3 lead. After RIT extended their advantage to 16-5, the Rams added three late goals in the 16-8 loss.
Rosino tallied a team-high five goals, while Keller scored twice and caused two turnovers.
RIT was led by Sarkis' game-high eight points on seven goals and an assist.
The Rams next will play host to New Paltz in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, March 29th at 6:00 p.m.
