Rams Cruise in Skyline win over Mount Saint Mary

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team earned a 20-7 Skyline Conference victory over Mount Saint Mary College this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y.

Leading 5-2 with 18:53 remaining in the first half, Farmingdale State (8-5, 5-1) sophomore attack Kristen Keller (Westbury, N.Y.) converted a free position shot to put the Rams ahead by four. Farmingdale State followed with five unanswered goals to extend their advantage to 11-2.

After a Knights (7-7, 5-1) goal with 9:34 on the clock, senior attack Kelly Geheran (Sayville, N.Y.) and senior midfielder Christy Thoden* (Bayport, N.Y.) responded with goals for the Rams to increase the lead to 10, 13-3. Farmingdale State took a 15-4 advantage into halftime.

The Rams outscored Mount Saint Mary 5-3 in the second half as they handed the Knights their first conference loss of the season.

Marzocca finished with a game-high nine points on five goals and four assists and added five draw controls and two caused turnovers. Thoden scored three goals, had four assists, four ground balls and a season-high 15 draw controls, while Geheran and senior midfielder Alyssa Handel (Medford, N.Y.) each scored twice.

The Knights were led by junior midfielder Nicole Scicutella (Massapequa, N.Y.) who tallied four goals and caused a game-high five turnovers.

Farmingdale State next will travel to Stevens for a non-conference game on Wednesday, April 22nd at 1:00 p.m.
