Rams Earn Road Win at Maritime

Farmingdale State - 20, Maritime - 1


Throggs Neck, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team defeated Maritime, 20-1, in a Skyline Conference game on Tuesday night. With the win, the Rams improved to 7-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play this year.

Farmingdale State scored the first eight goals of the game to lead 8-0 with 9:39 remaining in the first half. After a Maritime (2-8, 0-5) goal on a free-position shot, senior Jackie Kennedy (Massapequa, N.Y.), freshman Mary Kate Butler (Wantagh, N.Y.) and junior Ali Pavese (Kings Park, N.Y.) all tallied scores as the Rams took an 11-1 advantage into halftime.

Farmingdale State outscored the Privateers 9-0 in the second half en route to the 20-1 Skyline victory.

Senior midfielder's Nicole Marzocca* (North Babylon, N.Y.) and Alyssa Handel (Medford, N.Y.) each finished with a game-high seven points on two goals and five assists. Junior midfielder Kristen Ranaldo (Commack, N.Y.) scored two goals, had one assist and five draw controls for the Rams.

Farmingdale State next will travel to Connecticut College for a non-conference game on Thursday, April 16th at 7:00 p.m.
