Rams Cruise to Win over Dolphins

Farmingdale State - 12, Mount Saint Vincent - 2


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team improved to 3-2 overall with a 12-2 victory today over conference opponent the College of Mount Saint Vincent (1-4). The Rams recorded 10 assists on goals by 11 different players.

Senior midfielder Christy Thoden* (Bayport, N.Y.) put Farmingdale State ahead 1-0 only 23 seconds into the game off a pass from senior attack Jackie Kennedy (Massapequa Park, N.Y.). Sophomore mifielder Brittany Rosino (North Babylon, N.Y.) made it 2-0 just 35 seconds later with an assist by senior midfielder Alyssa Handel (Medford, N.Y.). After CMSV cut the deficit to 2-1 on a goal by Kayla Carigliano (Clarkstown, N.Y.), the Rams scored six unanswered goals to take an 8-1 lead into halftime.

The Rams outscored Mount Saint Vincent 4-1 in the second half as they earned the 12-2 victory in their Skyline conference opener.

Kennedy recorded a game-high five points (one goal and four assists), while Thoden tabbed two goals, one assist, five draws and caused a game-high four turnovers. Senior midfielder Nicole Marzocca* (North Babylon, N.Y.) pitched in with a goal and two assists.

Carigliano scored both goals for the Dolphins and collected a team-high four draw controls.

The Rams now host Montclair State on Tuesday, March 31st at 3:30 p.m.
