Rams Cruise to Win over Old Westbury

Farmingdale State - 12, Old Westbury - 2


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team had 12 players in scoring in this afternoon's 12-2 Skyline victory over Old Westbury. The Rams now stand at 14-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in conference action, while the Panthers fell to 3-10, 1-4.

Farmingdale State jumped out to a 6-0 lead, before Old Westbury got on the board with 9:03 remaining in the first half. The Rams closed the half with two goals and took an 8-1 lead into the break. After extending the lead to 12-1 midway through the second half, the Panthers scored the final goal of the game with 15:37 left to play as the Rams cruised to the 12-2 win.

Junior midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) had a goal, an assist and game-highs for both draw controls (9) and caused turnovers (3). Junior midfielder Nicole Marzocca (North Babylon, N.Y.) and freshman attack Brittany Rosino (North Babylon, N.Y.) each recorded a game-high four points, scoring one goal and three assists.

The Rams will now host The Sage Colleges on Saturday, April 12th at 3:00 p.m. with a special Senior Day ceremony before the game for senior defender Tatiana Pena (Hicksville, N.Y.).
