Rams End Regular Season at Ramapo

Mahwah, N.J. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team improved to 14-2 overall, 10-0 in conference play with a 23-8 victory at Ramapo College today in Mahwah, N.J. The Rams have claimed the top-seed for this week's playoffs and will host the winner of #4 Kean/#5 Mount Saint Mary on Thursday, April 25th at 4:00 p.m.

Farmingdale State was trailing 4-2 after the first ten minutes of play, but used a six goal streak to take the lead 6-4 and never looked back. The Rams led 10-6 at the half and allowed just two goals the rest of the way.

Sophomore midfielder Nicole Marzocca (West Babylon, N.Y.) posted a career-high 11 points (six goals and five assists), along with five draws, four caused turnovers and four ground balls. Sophomore midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) scored four goals and four assists, along with five draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Thoden now holds 41 caused turnovers this season, which breaks her school record of 40 from last year.

Freshman midfielder Kristen Ranaldo (Commack, N.Y.) finished with three goals, while sophomore midfielder Kelly Geheran (Sayville, N.Y.) totaled two goals and two assists. Sophomore midfielder Jackie Kennedy (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) had two goals and one assist for the day.

For Ramapo, Lindsay Hughes had five goals and Amanda Ferry scored three. Goalkeeper Reagan Vier made 21 saves in defeat.

The Rams will now await their opponent for the Skyline Semifinals, which will be determined in the First Round game hosted by Kean on Tuesday, April 23rd.
