Farmingdale State - 17, Maritime College - 1


Throgs Neck, N.Y. - With 16 different players notching a goal today, the Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team took a 17-1 Skyline Conference victory over Maritime College in Throgs Neck, N.Y. The Rams improved to 5-2, 3-0 in conference play with the win, while the Privateers fell to 1-5, 0-3.

Farmingdale State scored nine straight goals in the first, before Maritime broke the shutout with 2:40 left the half. The Rams allowed no goals the rest of the way, as they outshot the Privateers 33-5, controlled the draws (14-of-19) and led 23-10 in ground balls.

Freshman defender Sara Rivadeneyra (Ridge, N.Y.) finished with a team-high four ground balls for the Rams, along with a goal and an assist. Freshman attack Gabrielle Zutter (Centereach, N.Y.) scored two goals, while sophomore attack Kelly Geheran (Sayville, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) and sophomore defender Jackie Kennedy (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) both finished with one goal and two assists.

Farmingdale State will next host the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday, March 27th at 4:00 p.m.
