Rams Remain Perfect in Skyline with Win over Dolphins

Yonkers, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team improved to a perfect 7-0 in the Skyline Conference after defeating Mount Saint Vincent 18-7 in Yonkers, N.Y. Farmingdale State now holds an overall record of 11-1, while the Dolphins fell to 4-8, 3-4 in conference play.

Senior attack Krystin Shand (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) had a game-high 12 points for the Rams as she scored seven goals and added five assists. Sophomore midfielder Jordyn Hasemann (Farmingdale, N.Y.) also scored seven goals and recorded one assist for eight points on the afternoon.

Farmingdale State led 10-3 with 1:08 remaining in the first half before Hasemann scored twice to put the Rams ahead 12-3 at the break. Hasemann scored the first three goals of the second half, tallying five consecutive scores, which gave Farmingdale State a 15-3 lead. Mount Saint Vincent added three goals over the final 3:01 but fell 18-7.

Freshman midfielder Nicole Marzocca (West Babylon, N.Y.) scored three goals and had three assists and three ground balls, while freshman midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) had four ground balls, three draw controls and caused a game-high three turnovers for the Rams.

The Dolphins were led by junior midfielder Nicole Flores (Bethpage, N.Y.) who scored four goals, picked up six ground balls and had six draw controls.

Farmingdale State next will close out the regular season as the host Sage on senior day on Saturday, April 21st at 1:00 p.m.
