Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team improved to 6-1, 2-0 in the conference today with a 21-4 victory over visiting Maritime College (1-4, 0-3). The Rams were led by freshman midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) with nine draw controls, six goals, five assists and three caused turnovers.

Farmingdale State led 11-2 at the half and scored 10 more in the second to cruise to the Skyline win. Senior attack Krystin Shand (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) posted a game-high seven assists, one shy of the school record, and also scored two goals. Freshman midfielder Nicole Marzocca (West Babylon, N.Y.) finished with three goals and four assists.

Maritime's senior midfielder Kristen Saporito (Rocky Point, N.Y.) totaled a team-best two goals and four draw controls, while freshman attack Tessa Jardine (Valley Stream, N.Y.) had one goal and one assist. Senior goalkeeper Laura Palino (North Babylon, N.Y.) made 10 saves in defeat.

The Rams will now host Mount Saint Mary College in another Skyline game on Saturday, March 31 at 1:00 p.m.
