2011 Women's Lacrosse Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The women's lacrosse team, under first year head coach Katie Mollot, finished the 2011 season with a 10-5 overall record. The Rams defeated Mount Saint Mary in the Skyline quarterfinals but fell to Ramapo in the semifinal round.

Senior Justine Rothar led the team with 63 points as she scored 35 goals and recorded 28 assists. Sophomore Emily Williams had a team-high 45 goals as well as 16 assists, while sophomore Carly Schneider was tied for second on the team in goals with 35. Sophomore Kim Lehmann was a standout from her midfield position as she scored 20 goals and led the team in caused turnovers. Junior Chelsea Bjornsson was the anchor of a strong defensive unit while goalie Courtney Cook started every game for the Rams and led the conference in saves.

Rothar, Williams and Bjornsson were named First Team All-Conference, while Schneider, Lehmann, Cook and sophomore Jillian Pironti received Second Team honors.
