Rams Roll Past Bard for Skyline Win

Farmingdale State - 18, Bard College - 1


Kingston, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team defeated Bard College, 18-1, on Saturday at Dietz Stadium in Kingston, N.Y. The Rams improved to 3-2 overall and now hold a 2-0 Skyline Conference record with the victory.

Farmingdale State scored 11 first half goals, four of which were by sophomore midfielder Emily Williams (Centerport, N.Y.). The Rams held an 11-1 advantage at halftime. In the second half, senior attack Justine Rothar* (Levittown, N.Y.) scored four of the Rams' seven. Farmingdale shutout Bard (1-4, 0-2) in the second half after allowing only four shots.

Rothar recorded a game-high 11 points (6 goals, 5 assists) and caused five turnovers, while Williams netted five goals and had eight draw controls. Junior attack Krystin Shand* (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) scored two goals and tallied four assists. Junior midfielder Chelsea Bjornsson (Levittown, N.Y.) picked up a team-high seven ground balls.

Freshman midfielder Stephanie LaMont (Skippack, Penn.) scored Bard's lone goals and sophomore midfielder Bridget Reddington (Caldwell, N.J.) recorded a game-high eight ground balls.

Farmingdale State will travel to Vassar on Monday, March 28th for a non-conference game at 4:00 p.m.
