Eight Rams Receive All-Skyline Women's Lacrosse Honors


Lawrenceville, N.J. -  The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team had eight players earn All-Skyline Conference Honors this season. Sophomore midfielder Justine Rothar (Levittown, N.Y./Division Ave.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Year and freshman goalkeeper Courtney Cook (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) was named Rookie of the Year. Senior midfielder Theresa Rokee (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst), sophomore defender Caitlin Brown (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon) and Cook were named First Team All-Skyline Conference. Sophomore midfielder Jackie Messina (Nesconset, N.Y./Smithtown), freshman midfielder Shannon Reardon (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon), junior midfielder Jennifer Jung (Tuscan, AZ./Herricks) and sophomore defender Chelsea Bjornsson (Levittown, N.Y./Division Ave.) were named to the Second Team. Farmingdale State's head coach Carrie Bolduc was named Skyline Conference Coach of the Year.

Rothar scored 49 goals, had 21 assists for a total of 70 points and had 19 ground balls this season. In seven Skyline games, she had 37 goals, 14 assists and nine turnovers.

Cook played 10 games in goal for the Rams and had 11.6 saves per game with a .577 save percentage. She allowed only five goals a game and held a .671 save percentage in conference play.

Rokee had 47 goals, nine assists and 40 draw controls this season. She had 25 draw controls and 31 points in conference games.

Brown had 24 ground balls, 20 draw controls, 17 caused turnovers and 10 points this season from her defensive position.

Messina scored 21 goals, had 30 draw controls, 28 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers this year for Farmingdale State.

Reardon scored 17 goals this season, 11 of which game in Skyline Conference games. She had a total of 24 points and 23 ground balls.

Jung had 14 goals and 10 assists in 12 games played. She had 23 ground balls, 21 draw controls and caused 18 turnovers.

Bjornsson led the team in ground balls with 31 and caused turnovers with 24. In Conference play, she averaged two caused turnovers per game.
