Farmingdale, N.Y. - Sophomore midfielder Justine Rothar (Levittown, N.Y./Division Ave.) scored a school record nine goals for Farmingdale State in the 19-12 win over Mount Saint Vincent this afternoon. The Rams evened their record at 2-2, 1-0 in Skyline play, while the Dolphins dropped their first game of the season, falling to 4-1, 0-1 in the conference.

The Dolphins scored the games opening goal on a free position shot by junior midfielder Katie Tucci (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baker). The Rams scored the next five goals and never looked back. Farmingdale State took a 9-5 lead into halftime, led by Rothar's four first half goals.

In the second, Mount Saint Vincent would close within three, on Tucci's second goal of the contest. Senior midfielder Theresa Rokee (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) would answer, scoring the next two goals for the Rams. Farmingdale would pull away, earning their first conference win 19-12.

Rothar scored her nine goals on only 11 shots. She also added three assists for a game-high 12 points, which was another school record. Rothar caused two turnovers and picked up two ground balls for Farmingdale State. Rokee and sophomore attack Katelin McIsaac (Longwood, N.Y./Ridge) each scored three goals, while junior midfielder Jennifer Jung scored twice for the Rams. Sophomore midfielder Jackie Messina (Nesconset, N.Y./Smithtown) and freshman defender Yesenia Quintanilla (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) each recorded four ground balls for Farmingdale State.

Mount Saint Vincent was led by sophomore midfielder Jessie Mitchell (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern), who scored three goals, had one assist and caused five turnovers.

The Rams will travel to Ramapo for a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, March 28th at 1:00pm.
