Rams Fall in Skyline Semifinals at Ramapo

Ramapo College - 15, Farmingdale State - 10

Mahwah, N.J. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team fell, 15-10, at Ramapo College in the Skyline Conference Semifinals. The Rams finished the season with an 8-7 overall record.

Farmingdale took an early 2-1 lead as junior attack Justine Rothar* (Levittown, N.Y./Division Ave.) scored an unassisted goal 1:30 into the game. Ramapo answered with six consecutive goals, three by freshman attack Adriana Tependino (Freehold, N.J./Freehold), to take a 7-2 lead late in the first half. Freshman midfielder Emily Williams (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) pulled the Rams within four as she scored an unassisted goal with 7:56 remaining in the half. Farmingdale State went into halftime trailing 7-3.

Rothar and Williams netted a goal apiece early in the second half, to cut the deficit to 7-5. Tependino scored four seconds later, increasing Ramapo's lead to 8-5.

Farmingdale trailed 12-7 before Williams scored a free position goal with 15:44 remaining in the contest. Sophomore attack Amanda Barretta (Roseland, N.J./West Essex) scored back-to-back goals for the Roadrunners, increasing the lead to six and putting the game out of reach for Farmingdale.

Williams and Rothar each had four goals for the Rams, while freshman defender Victoria Perullo (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park) and senior attack Kathy Waite* (Levittown, N.Y./Division Ave.) each scored once. Waite picked up three ground balls and had a team-high five draw controls.

Ramapo was led by Barretta who had a game-high six goals and Tepedino who scored five and had one assist. Junior attack Jenna Pfarr (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) had five draw controls for the Roadrunners.

Senior goalkeeper Courtney Caden (Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) made eight saves in the loss, while senior Megan Tierney (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) had 10 saves for Ramapo.
