Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team fell to Division II Molloy College on Monday night at the Dean G. Skelos Sports Complex in Rockville Centre, N.Y. The Rams fall to 5-4 with the loss, while the Lions improved to 9-2.

Molloy senior midfielder Kristie Sosnowski (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) led all players with five points off three tallies and two assists. She also won 13 draw controls and a pair of ground balls for the Lions

In the first half, the Molloy offense had an 11-goal showing, while its defense along with junior goaltender Jackie Bove's (North Massapequa, N.Y.) nine saves kept Farmingdale off of the board. Senior attacker Rebecca LaFlare (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) notched a hat trick, while Sosnowski and freshman midfielder Emily Glenn (Mineola, N.Y.) scored two goals each. Junior attacker Maria Varricchio (Massapequa, N.Y.) contributed a pair of assists to the effort.

Leading 12-1 with just over 26 minutes to go in the second, the Lions netted off three goals to make it 15-1. Farmingdale State answered with a four-goal burst to cut the deficit to 15-5 at the 10:31 mark, but it wasn't enough as Molloy went on for the victory, snapping the Rams four-game win streak.

Freshman midfielder Emily Williams (Centerport, N.Y.) led Farmingdale with two goals and one assist, while senior midfielder Kathy Waite (Levittown, N.Y.) scored two goals and grabbed two draw controls. Sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Cook (Deer Park, N.Y.) made 15 saves in defeat.
