Vassar with Big Second Half over the Rams

Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State
women's lacrosse team dropped to 2-5 overall today after a 12-2
loss at home to Vassar College (6-2) in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams
were behind 4-0 at halftime, before Vassar came out and scored
eight second half goals to take a 12-2 victory.
After Vassar scored their first two goals of the second half,
Farmingdale State answered with two goals, an unassisted goal from
sophomore defender Monica Grisales (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) and
a free position goal from sophomore midfielder Jennifer Jung (New
Hyde Park, N.Y./Herricks).
Junior attacker Katie Martellucci (Montclare, Pa./The Hill School)
scored a game-high six goals to lead Vassar. Sophomore defender
Lindsay Magida (Middlesex, Vt./U32 High School) grabbed a game-high
six draw controls as Vassar controlled the draws 15-1.
Senior goalkeeper Janine Forman (Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) made
17 saves in defeat for the Rams, while senior goalkeeper Ariel
Nelson (Coronado, Calif./Coronado) made 11 saves for the win.
Farmingdale State now hosts Molloy College on Thursday, April 10th
at 5:00 p.m.
