Danbury, Conn. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team improved to 1-1 overall with a convincing 19-7 victory over Western Connecticut (0-2) today in Danbury, Conn. Rams junior midfielder Theresa Rokee (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) led the team with nine points (4 goals, 5 assists), while freshman attackers Heather Andersen (4 goals, 2 assists - Levittown, N.Y./Division Ave.) and Justine Rothar (5 goals, 1 assist - Levittown, N.Y./Division Ave.) both finished with six points in the win.

Junior midfielder Jennifer Jung (New Hyde Park, N.Y./Merricks) opened the scoring just 4:02 into the game off a pass from freshman attacker Alecia Fuschetto (Melville, N.Y./Hills East). Andersen connected off a Rothar pass just four minutes later to put Farmingdale on top by two, and then Rokee scored on a free position for the 3-0 Rams advantage.

In the second, the Rams scored first with a goal by Fuschetto on a Rokee assist, before West Conn came back with four goals to Farmingdale's two, cutting the deficit to 13-5 with 16 minutes left. The Rams took the momentum back and added six more to finish with the 19-7 win. Senior goalkeeper Janine Forman (Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) made 11 saves.
