HOBOKEN, N.J. – Saturday afternoon belonged to junior attack Liz Mather (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) as she scored five goals and tallied two assists to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team to a 14-5 victory over Farmingdale State College at the De Baun Athletic Complex in Hoboken, N.J. In addition, Mather broke Lesa Glick's single-season record for assists at Stevens.

Mather, who entered the game with 28 assists this season, tied Glick's mark from 2002 on a goal by freshman midfielder Alyssa Pigott (Jobstown, N.J.) with 3:27 left in the first half. Mather went on to break the record on a goal by sophomore defender/midfielder Cassidy Callahan (Skaneateles, N.Y.) with 24:07 remaining in the game. During her three years with the Ducks, Mather has amassed 40 career assists.
Stevens (9-6, 5-1 Skyline Conference) also received a solid effort out of freshman midfielder Kara Borzillo (Mount Laurel, N.J.), who had three goals, two assists, two ground balls and two draw controls against the Rams. Sophomore attack Dana Perriello (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished with two goals. Junior attack/midfielder Kaitlyn Roes (Stillwater, N.J.) contributed a goal, two assists and four draw controls.
Meanwhile, Callahan posted a goal, two assists, four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Pigott chipped in with two goals, three assists, six ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers. Mather added three ground balls and two draw controls for the Ducks. Junior goalkeeper Stephanie Linder (Eatontown, N.J.) improved to 7-6 on the year by making five saves. Linder allowed just one goal in 30 minutes of action.
Freshman midfielder Jennifer Jung (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) led Farmingdale (6-5, 2-4 Skyline) with three points from two goals and an assist. She also had two ground balls. Sophomore attack/midfielder Nicole Brett (Babylon, N.Y.) tallied two goals in the loss. Junior goalkeeper Janine Forman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) made 22 saves in net for the Rams.
Brett scored the first goal of the game as Farmingdale jumped out to a 1-0 lead just under four minutes into the contest. Stevens, which has won four games in a row, proceeded to score the next 11 goals to grab the momentum.
Pigott got the Ducks going with an unassisted goal. Less than a minute later, Mather picked up her first goal. Perriello added a goal with 20:12 left on the clock to stake Stevens to a 3-1 lead. The Ducks scored six times in the final 9:01 of the half to take a 9-1 lead at the break. Mather scored three times during that stretch. She added her fifth goal of the game just 32 seconds into the second half.
Stevens out-shot Farmingdale 47-21 in the game. The Ducks also owned the advantage in ground balls (23-13) and draw controls (15-6). Stevens was 22-for-24 (91.7 percent) in clearing attempts. The Rams were 17-for-35 (48.6 percent) in clears on the day.

Farmingdale will host their final home game of the regular season this Tuesday, April 24th against Ramapo College at 4:00 p.m. The Rams will be having Senior Day at the game for seniors Natalie Budinich, Andrea MacIntyre and Melissa Simonin.
