Rams Fall to Mount Saint Vincent

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team fell to Mount Saint Vincent (2-3, 1-0 Skyline) today in their first conference game of the season. The score was tied 5-5 at the half, but Mount Saint Vincent outscored the Rams 3-1 in the second for the 8-6 victory. Farmingdale dropped to 3-1 overall, 0-1 in the Skyline with the loss.

The Rams scored four straight goals to start off the first half with two goals coming from sophomore Nicole Brett (Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon), before the Dolphins connected on four straight to tie the game at 4 all. Farmingdale freshman Jennifer Jung (New Hyde Park, N.Y./Herricks) scored her first of the day to give the Rams the 5-4 lead, but Mount Saint Vincent freshman Khrystina Jackson (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) tied it up again with 18 seconds left in the half to make it 5-5.

In the second half, the Dolphins scored two goals for a 7-5 lead. Jung scored her second of the day with 20:06 on the clock to cut the lead to one, but the Rams could not finish the rest of the way and Mount Saint Vincent pushed on for the win.

Janine Forman (North Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) finished with 17 saves for Farmingdale State. Mount Saint Vincent goalie Jackie Horn (Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) made 9 saves.

The Rams now face Centenary College on Tuesday, April 2nd at 4:00pm in another Skyline Conference game.
