Hillburn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team scored nine second half goals to overcome an 8-3 halftime deficit and defeat Division II St. Thomas Aquinas (1-3) by a score of 12-11 on Wednesday afternoon in Hillburn, N.Y. The Rams freshman midfielder Jennifer Jung (New Hyde Park, N.Y./Herricks) scored five of her six goals in the second, including the game-winner with 2:36 left to play.

St. Thomas Aquinas jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first half, before the Rams got on the scoreboard in the 24th minute with a goal by sophomore midfielder Theresa Rokee (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst). STAC responded with their final goal of the half, while Farmingdale's Jung and Rokee added one each to cut the score to 8-3.

The Rams adjusted in the second half and reeled off six unanswered goals over eight minutes to take the 9-8 lead. Senior midfielder Gina Shore (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem) scored the first goal of the half on a free-position pass from Rokee to start up the rally.

STAC senior Kim DeLorenzo tied the score at 9-9 with 17:53 left on the clock, before Jung added her fifth of the day just two and a half minutes later for another Rams lead, 10-9. Two quick goals by STAC would give them an 11-10 edge, before senior attacker Natalie Budinich (East Northport, N.Y./Commack) tied it up at 11 all with 3:18 left to play.

Jung's game-winner came with 2:36 left and junior goalkeeper Janine Forman (North Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) made three key stops over the final minutes to secure the victory and the Rams third win of the season. Forman finished with 12 saves.

Farmingdale State will open their conference schedule this Saturday, March 31st at home against Mount Saint Vincent at Noon.
