FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Freshman guard Adrianna Romo-Leroux (Selden, N.Y.) scored a season-high 16 points while collecting a team-best nine rebounds Tuesday night at the Walter A. Lynch Sports Center, as the Farmingdale State College women's basketball team fell in Skyline Conference play, 67-51, to visiting St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn.

The host Rams (4-16, 3-12 Skyline) also received 13 points from sophomore guard Jenna Pignataro (Farmingville, N.Y.), while junior forward Tiffany Sosa (New Hyde Pk., N.Y.) set a career-high for the second consecutive outing by swatting away four blocked shots. After the two teams finished the first quarter of play tied at 8-all, Romo-Leroux's jumper 87 seconds into the second frame sparked a 9-0 to put FSC in front by a 17-8 margin on a jumper with 5:40 left in the half by senior Emily Zeblisky (Northport, N.Y.). The visiting Bears (11-9, 8-7) with the final 14 points of the half over a 4:55 stretch to take a 26-19 lead into the locker room at the interval.

Pignataro's pair at the free throw line cut Farmingdale State's deficit to 28-25 just over two minutes into the second half, before St. Joseph's-Brooklyn outscored the hosts by a 22-7 margin to end the third period up 50-32.

The Bears upped their lead to 25 points midway through the fourth quarter, before the Rams chipped away, including five points apiece from Pignataro and Romo-Leroux the remainder of the contest, to account for the final 16-point margin.

Head coach Mark Dellecave's Farmingdale State squad is back in home conference action Thursday night, when it plays host to Yeshiva University in a 6 p.m. tip-off.
