Manhattanville Earns 11th Conference Victory with Win Over FSC

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State women's basketball team suffered a 65-29 loss to Manhattanville this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams dropped to 3-10 in conference play, while the Valiants improved to 11-2.

Manhattanville controlled the opening two quarters, taking a commanding 34-4 advantage. Prior to the end of the half, the Rams were in the bonus and knocked in four consecutive free-throws as the score was 34-8 at the break.

In an evenly played third quarter, FSC scored 18 points, including five points apiece from junior forward Tiffany Sosa (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) and freshman forward Lissette Cordero (West Babylon, N.Y.).

The Valiants led 53-26 at the end of the third quarter and outscored the Rams 12-3 in the fourth as they went on for the 65-29 victory.

Sosa recorded a team-best seven points, while Cordero notched six points, 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Freshman Adrianna Romo-Leroux (Selden, N.Y.) had four points, two rebounds and three steals and sophomore guard Jenna Pignataro (Farmingville, N.Y.) registered four points and four rebounds.

The Rams will next play host to Mount Saint Mary College for a Skyline game on Tuesday, January 31st at 5:30 p.m.
